Let Us Journal is a Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to help women build a consistent journaling practice through a thoughtful, calming, and beautifully designed experience. We're preparing for the next phase of product development and looking for a senior front-end developer who wants a role that grows with the product.

We're starting the engagement at limited hours so the right person can get fluent in the codebase, the team, and the product before the next phase ramps up. As the roadmap expands, so do the hours and the scope. We want someone senior who's comfortable starting deliberate and hands-on, and who's looking for something that builds into a long-term technical role.

• Bring strong React and Next.js expertise and are comfortable in an App Router architecture
• Translate high-fidelity Figma designs into pixel-perfect, production-ready interfaces
• Build reusable, scalable React components with clean, maintainable, well-documented code
• Optimize PWAs for speed, accessibility, and responsiveness
• Communicate proactively and consistently
• Own your work with reliable follow-through and realistic effort estimation
• Work well alongside designers and other developers
• Are available to begin in August

How we work together

You'll collaborate with the product's Founder, Development Team, and UX Team. We keep communication open and direct, hand off cleanly from Figma, and trust people to run with their piece. We're looking for a partner who enjoys building thoughtful products, not just closing tickets.

The Details:

• Engagement: Independent contractor, through Opportune Design Co., on a monthly retainer
• Location: Remote
• Start: August 2026
• Retainer: Starting monthly retainer, reviewed at the three-month mark as the role grows beyond support
• Time commitment: You manage your own schedule; the initial support phase is light and won't exceed about 15 hours a week
• Length: Initial 3-month term, with the engagement growing alongside the product.
